What is the admission and selection process like?

Once you submit your
application, you will need to (1) complete a form with your personal details— including your academic transcripts to date, PAU scores/UNED credentials if applicable, and language certificates (if any)—and (2) request an interview. The admission process consists of two parts, both conducted on the same day:
Personal Interview: Lasting approximately 55 minutes, where we will assess your skills, academic performance, and motivation.
Group Dynamics: A mandatory session lasting approximately 1.5 hours. During this time, we will share more details about EDEM and evaluate your teamwork
skills, such as problem-solving, communication, respect, empathy, and initiative. You will also have the opportunity to explore our campus on a guided tour.
This process allows us to get to know you better and determine if your profile aligns with the programme.
If we find that your level of mathematics, physics, or English does not fully meet the programme requirements, we will offer you the chance to take a mathematics and/or physics test, or an additional interview in English to assess your skills.
This will give you the opportunity to demonstrate your abilities in these areas and helps us determine if you are the right fit for the degree.

Do I need a strong background in mathematics, physics, and English to apply for the degree?

Yes, a solid foundation in mathematics, physics, and English is
important for the degree. If we find during the selection process that your level in these areas does not fully meet the requirements, we may ask you to take a mathematics and/or physics test, and/or an additional interview in English. This will give you the opportunity to demonstrate your skills and helps us evaluate if you are the right fit for the programme.

Do I need UNED credentials and/or qualification recognition to apply if I come from a foreign education system?

Please find below the two possible scenarios

depending on your educational background:

If you come from a non-European education system: It is essential that you obtain both the official recognition of your high school diploma (*homologación*) and the UNED Accreditation before starting your degree. We strongly recommend taking the UNED Specific Competency Tests (*Pruebas de Competencias Específicas — PCE*), as these will allow you to boost your admission score and demonstrate your skills in core subjects.

If you come from a European education system (A-levels, IB, Lycée Français, Deutsche Schule, etc.): You must obtain the UNED Accreditation before the academic year begins, although official diploma recognition (*homologación*) is not required. We also highly recommend taking the UNED Specific Competency Tests (*PCE*) to improve your admission score and stand out in the most relevant subjects.

*\*In certain cases, if your academic level is unclear, we may require you to take the PCE tests to complete our assessment of your candidacy for the programme.*
